SOP FOR AOI PROGRAMMING

What is AOI?

AOI stand for "Automatic or automated optical inspection". It is a key technique used in the manufacture and test of electronics printed circuit boards, PCBs. Automatic optical inspection, AOI enables fast and accurate inspection of electronics assemblies and in particular PCBs to ensure that the quality of product leaving the production line is high and the items are built correctly and without manufacturing faults.

Advantage of AOI:

Detection of Visual Defects: AOI can accurately detect surface defects on the board such as stains, missing or wrongly mounted components, soldering flaws, and scratches. Human eyes can easily miss any of these obvious defects as they are extremely minute.

Flexibility: The best part of AOI is that it can be applied and run through at any stage of the process and can be carried out multiple times if required.

Detection of Defects in PCB Assemblies: AOIs can accurately determine flaws not just in single PCBs but also PCB assemblies. Inspection of PCB assembly includes identifying defects in values, polarity and component soldering among others.

Reliability: There is no doubt that AOI is a very reliable method that gives accurate output.

SOP FOR TR7710 DT AOI MACHINE PROGRAMMING.

  1. First of all we have to collect CAD Data from Pick and Place Machine.
  2. Then select a Board with proper Visual Inspection (VI) which doesn't consists any defects like missing components, less soldering, shift, wrong part etc.
  3. Verify Board from Quality members.
  4. Now follow the steps for TR7710 DT AOI Machine Programming.
